Facebook update from FaceBrooke

July 31, 2008

Attention Oinklets: There is a new set-up for facebook. The page is just designed differently. At the top of your screen, you should see a bar that says “New Facebook, try it!”  k, well TRY IT and see how you like it. You also have the button to still switch back to old facebook. I got to the new one sometimes and play around. It’s hard to get use to. I still like the old one better right now.

Honest to blog, I’m sad to leave Baptist today. We are about to go to lunch together. Everyone is so ballin’ here in the Marketing department. They have done nothing but shower me with love and encouragement and I will miss them tremendously. I’m going to come back over Christmas and work (hopefully get paid?)

Welp, about to peace to lunch.

Go God. Go Baptist Health. Go Oinklets.

Peace out. Love, Baruka

Hello! (british accent just for baruka from camil)

July 31, 2008

Wow, it was amazing to hear all your posts this morning (especially yours baruka: who knew pigs could take on such a deep meaning). Caroline, your post was so cool, because just last night I was praying about the exact same thing. It was really hitting me how Im not in control, and I can look back now so clearly and see God’s hand in every aspect of my life. Its awesome that he is teaching us the same things! I was also reminded once again last night, how evident God is in nature. As I looked at the sunset, and the vibrant colors of the sky and trees, I was left in awe of His glory. I mean don’t you just love those moments when its just you and God, and you can feel Him so clearly. May you each bring Him glory in all you do today!! I love you!

As I was eating breakfast this morning, I was thinking about y’all, and on a deeper level, how God has used so many experiences in each of our lives to shape who we are today, and also to create this special bond we share. Trusting the Lord’s wisdom and timing is something we hear alot, but I think we would all agree that it is easier said than done. We have all had times when we’ve had to trust God’s hand, even when its a little fuzzy to see at first. I am currently reading the book of Esther, along with an actual book called Esther by Charles Swindol that somewhat “dissects” the Word. Swindol’s book brought up a great point that took me to reading to Daniel 4, which is where I discovred a great verse. Daniel 4:35 says, “All the peoples of the earth are regarded as nothing. He does as he pleases with the powers of heaven and the peoples of the earth. No one can hold back his hand or say to him:What have you done?” So basically, there is no reason to not trust God and to try to fix things ourselves. No matter how hard you try, God’s will is going to be accomplished. Though at the time you may get frustrated that you can’t fix it, we all know that God’s plan is more than we could ever imagine. Just a little “happy” from what we call the house o’ payne (360 Payne street is currently where I live-good one, I know). Love each of my oinksters!       -care bear

ash..that video  made me laugh so hard. whitney houston in the back ground made it all the more better! bahaha..that’s why i love the today show. baruka..i love that i automatically knew who was writing when i read your pig song..haha, only you! bethany..have been praying for your fam, that story is so encouraging, just knowing how faithful the Lord is makes it easier for me to get by. Thanks for always being there for me oinklets..love you!

God is genius.

July 31, 2008

bethany here. i have a cool God story for ya’ll. so tomorrow we were supposed to leave for the beach with my grandparents. they cancelled monday when my grandad started feeling sick. today, we obviously cancelled when we heard the news about him. (btw, we will hopefully find out more details in the A.M.) we will leave tomorrow after my exam and head for Bham to be with him. we couldn’t cancel our reservations at the grand hotel because it was such late notice which is always a bummer but its ok because being in Bham is obviously much more important. we wouldn’t have it any other way. so we are at church tonight and this lady comes up to me with 2 envelopes…one for dad and one for mom. she wrote a note saying that today she felt lead by God to give us this money. it was exactly the amount of our two hotel rooms we reserved for this weekend at the beach. this woman had no idea why God put us on her heart…she just obeyed. God is soo GOOD and so in control. just thought id share a bit o’ his faithfulness. thanks for you prayers…yall have once again proved to be the best friends.

LOVE YALL oinklets :)

I cried and I’m not even lion

July 31, 2008

Leave it to Baruka to take the pig thing and run.  Or trot. Or however pigs travel.

While I realize that this post is severely lacking in intelligence and depth compared to all your comments today, this is for smiles.  My beloved Today Show peeps introduced me to it. This is totally what we do when we see each other after months apart…I love y’all!

Oink Oink!

July 31, 2008

oink oink. Isn’t that how you spell the pig noise? I am totally down with the piggies. We could even have a lil’ tune.. (verses can DEFINITELY be altered..)

This lil’ piggie, Bethany, went to buy candy; this lil’ piggie, Caroline went to make a “happy” of some sort for a friend; this lil’ piggie, Ashlyn, danced her lil’ heart out; this lil’ piggie, Brooke, rode a horse (pig riding horse, awesome!); this lil’ piggie, Camilla, ran her own corporation; this lil’ piggie, Becca, hiked up a mountain in braided pigtails (PIGtails! ha!)

I know we can come up with better lines than that, but that’s a start! I mean..that is if we want a theme song… uhh..clearing throat. K, welp see ya later!  Love, Baruka : )

SUGGESTION…

July 30, 2008

hi loves. ya’ll we are doing a ballin job at this blog. let’s keep it up. one suggestion, and yall may think this is stupid and there is no need for it, but im gonna throw it out there anyway. maybe in the title box we could put our names??? as i am reading the entries, sometimes i dont know who it is until you mention something about your life or even the end. yall may hate the idea and its ok if you do…just let me down easy ok?

au girls…im praying for yall as you get ready to head back to the plains. i know it will be exciting but stressful. ash and i will come ASAP. bec and camil, yall’s house is gonna be ballin’. cant wait to have a big STN there.

my grandad has made much improvement. he is still very weak today but the doctors are very optimistic. mom is actually coming back home today which is always a good sign. thanks you for your prayers. my family leaves for the beach tomorrow after i take my exam…extremely pumped. but secretely, i wish it was all of us heading to the Holiday Inn to see JoJo. soon and very soon that day will come.

P.S. please notice on one our photos from care’s house that charles comments and calls us piggies. maybe that is a sign for what our group name should be? TOTALLY KIDDINg :) LOVE YALL

Im finally here….

July 30, 2008

So its no big suprise to anyone that im just now getting on to our blog (not that I dont think its awesome, thank you bec), we all know im just very bad at this sort of thing. But i have arrived so the whole group is finally in. In reading everyones post it really struck me how blessed I am to be surrounded by such Godly women. Ya’ll breathe some of Gods love into everything, everyday and that is truly amazing.

I am once again running errands (i know yall are thinking: what does she have to do?) but honestly i really enjoy it because its some quality time with my mom, and Im really going to miss her when school starts. One of my errands is sending Beth back her dress, its going to the post office today, sadly without the John Mayer cds because my lovely computer is freaking out and wont let me burn them. So if anyone else wants to hook her up that would be Ah-mazing.

Im pumped Ash and I are going to dinner tonight with the girls from ballet, and after Monday I realized how much I miss all of them. Ya’ll are my soul, but these people definitely shaped part of who I am today, so its been wonderful to see them again. I can’t believe I will soon be back in AU and starting rush. Craziness here we come! I love yall tons….

PS dont forget dinner at my house on thursday, Ada is cooking and wants to see all of you!
